Please make sure that all of the content you upload to Instagram adds value to your followers and the general IG community. This is important because both it will reduce the probability of problems on your account, and because nobody wants IG to be filled with rubbish, us included. This means go easy on images that are just stock product shots from a website, or ones filled with text. Both of these will cause your account to have problems in the long run. This is the same with our advice on hashtags – use relevant hashtags. Over-use or use of irrelevant ones makes your account more likely to be flagged as spam by other users, which makes it hard for us to post (and might make Instagram kinda angry). Finally, we will be instituting a new system to require users who have gotten an “absolute failure” (like a wrong password [note: not a login fail, a wrong password]) to take action with us to ensure that they have actually fixed the issue. You must read the emails that we advise you. Simply re-posting content will not make the account magically work, and in many ways if you continually do so, you might see the error pop up again and again. Usually, all that is required on your end is to log into your IG account on a phone or tablet to check that there are not any screens that you need to review. We apologise to our legitimate users who have been affected. We are discussing a new system to approve new users and how this might work, as well as how we “weed out” some of the users who post content that’s just rubbish.
