How to set up ‘instaQueue’ and save time scheduling! We know that one of the most time consuming things to do when you’re scheduling out posts is picking the date and time. You have to click around to choose the day, and then either type or click the hour/minute that you want the post to go out. At the same time, the best Instagram strategy is to regularly post great and unique content. InstaQueue helps you by letting you set up specific “slots” that you want posts to go out at on each day of the week. For example, I might want to send out a post at 6am, 12pm and 9pm each weekday, but 10am and 5pm on weekends. Choosing the best time depends on your audience and what works for you – it is different for every company, but the best way to work that out is to experiment with different timing. After you’ve set up these ‘slots’, you choose to send images and videos to your queue when you upload them rather than choosing a specific day and time. That creates a big list of posts that you would like to go out, and at each of those ‘slots’, we grab the top thing from your queue and post it. You can obviously drag-and-drop to reorder your queued posts to change the ordering – do this in ‘upcoming posts’. Setting up instaQueue To set up instaQueue, log in to your account and go to the ‘Queue settings’ page in Sked Social (formerly Schedugram) (see below). Then, select your account. Next, turn on the Enable queue switch for your account (green arrow below), select your timezone (red arrow), and click on the Add button under each day of the week to set your prefered publishing times (blue arrow). You can pick any combination of time and days that you like. Adding posts to your queue After it’s set up, you can add posts to the queue as normal in your ‘upload posts’ page. You’ll find that now that instaQueue is enabled, posts will default to be added to the queue (see below). We add your posts to the end of the queue, so any that you already have there will go out first (unless you reorder them). Checking what is in your queue Then after writing your captions and submitting the posts, you’ll find them in “upcoming posts” or in the calendar. In “upcoming posts” you can drag and drop to change the order of posts in your queue – check out the example below with ‘grid view’. You can also move things around in the calendar, but note that if you move a queued post in the calendar, we will change it to be scheduled for the specific time and day that you “drop” the post to – more on this below. What about when you have a specific time and day? Sometimes even if you are queueing all your posts you have something that needs to go out on a specific day. In this case, just schedule it as normal and choose a time and date. Even if this is the same time as a queue ‘slot’, the scheduled post will override that ‘slot’ and then whatever would have been posted at that time from the queue will instead be posted in the next ‘slot’ available. You will see any scheduled posts appearing with an “S” in the upcoming posts view, while queued posts appear with a “Q”. This means that you can set up posts about a particular sale going live (etc) that need to go out at very particular times and the queued posts will just flow around them. Questions?
