Google Sheets

Beta

A spreadsheet row is a content idea.

Connect a Google Sheet, map its columns once, and every row lands in Sked as an idea. Any column of media URLs becomes library assets.

The calendar you already keep in a sheet.

Hourly

row sync

One selected spreadsheet, read-only.

Read-only

scoped access

Sked reads the sheet and never writes a cell.

Rows + media URLs

both land

Rows become ideas; url columns become library assets.

The rows you already maintain, on the calendar.

Somebody built it, everybody uses it, and none of it reaches the scheduler. Sked reads the sheet you select, treats the first row as headers, and turns each row beneath it into an idea you can schedule.

Rows become ideas

The first row is your headers. Map them once and every row below arrives as a Sked idea.

Media URLs become assets

Any column headed url, link, file, media or asset pulls that file into your media library, one asset per row.

One sheet, read-only

Pick a single spreadsheet. Sked reads it on the hour and never writes a cell.

Keep the sheet. Drop the retyping.

Nobody has to give up the spreadsheet they trust. Add a row, and it shows up as an idea on the next sync, with its media alongside it.

Name the columns. Sked does the rest.

Head your columns Title, Description, Status, Due, Labels or Author and Sked maps each row to an idea by name, matched case-insensitively. Extra columns are ignored, so the sheet your team already keeps almost certainly works as-is.

  • Title, Status, Due, Labels and Author columns map by name
  • First row is the header; every other row is an idea
  • Extra columns don't break anything

Add a row, get an idea. Every pass.

Sked re-reads every tab of the spreadsheet on each pass, so new rows show up as ideas without anyone importing anything. Each row's identity is tracked: re-sorts and re-syncs never duplicate, and deleting a row never deletes work already on the board.

  • New rows land as ideas on the next pass
  • Every tab of the spreadsheet is read
  • Deleting a row never deletes an idea in Sked

The board takes sources beyond the sheet.

Sheets is one feed. Notion databases, Asana projects, Trello boards and RSS feeds fill the same ideas board.

Common questions

Questions about Google Sheets integration.

  • What syncs from a Google Sheet?

The first row is treated as headers. Map them once and every data row below arrives as a Sked idea. Any column headed url, link, file, media or asset pulls that file into your media library.

  • Does Sked write to my spreadsheet?

No. Sked reads the single spreadsheet you select and never edits it.

  • How often does the sheet sync?

Hourly. Add a row and it shows up as an idea on the next sync.

  • How do my spreadsheet columns map to ideas?

By header name, case-insensitively: Title or Name becomes the idea's title; Description, Notes or Details the body; Status or Stage the status; Due or Date the due date; Labels or Tags become Sked labels; Author or Owner the author. Extra columns are ignored.

  • Does Sked read every tab in my spreadsheet?

Yes. Each tab's rows become ideas, with the first row of each tab treated as its header.

  • What happens when I edit or delete a row?

New rows become ideas on the next pass. A deleted row never deletes the idea in Sked, so drafts built from it are safe. Add an id column if you want a row's identity to survive re-sorting.

  • Will Sked ever write to my spreadsheet?

No. The connection is read-only. The sheet stays exactly as your team keeps it; Sked just reads it.
