So, how can your business take advantage of this new feature? Let’s dig into what we know so far about this new update—and what it means for your businesses’ Instagram account.

Why You Need The Shoppable Instagram Stories Feature?

Instagrammers love to shop. In fact, 300 million users check out Instagram Stories everyday to discover new products and trends.A survey also found that Instagrammers watched stories to stay in-the-know with brands they follow, discover new products and get an inside perspective of the products they love—so this isn’t a surprising development. Many brands have also added CTAs in their stories for the past year. Take a look at how J. Crew asked viewers to "swipe up" to access their blog.

What You Need to Know About the Shoppable Instagram Stories Stickers Feature

The new feature is similar to Instagram’s shoppable posts. It lets you tag physical products in your Stories that viewers can click to view the price, product name, and details. There are different types of shoppable stickers available: a shopping bag image, a sticker with the product name, and translucent text.Instagram has reported that the feature is only available for select brands, but we can expect the official release sometime in July for Instagram Business accounts. As of now, Instagram only allows verified brands with more than 10,000 followers to promote their products on Instagram stories, so we’ll have to wait and see whether business profiles can use this feature, regardless of their follower size. That being said—Schedugram allows you to add product tags to posts, and we hope to support story tagging once it is widely available.Want to learn how your business can drive sales with Stories?
