Code of Conduct

#seen: The community for people who take socials seriously

Our community exists to support the people behind the posts—social media managers, marketers, and creators who are visible online but often unsupported behind the screen. We're committed to creating a space where everyone feels genuinely seen, heard, and valued.

While #seen embraces real talk and authentic connections, we expect all members to understand that their words and actions shape our community culture.

Members who violate these guidelines may have posts removed, face temporary suspension, or be permanently banned at the discretion of the #seen team.

Community Guidelines

1. Keep it real, but keep it respectful

We celebrate authenticity and encourage honest conversations about the messy parts of our work. Vent about algorithm changes, difficult clients, or impossible deadlines—but always maintain respect for fellow community members. Real talk doesn't mean harmful talk.

2. Support the village

This community thrives when we lift each other up. Share your wins, offer advice when you can, and celebrate others' successes. Before posting, ask yourself: "Does this add value to our community?" Focus on giving back, not just taking.

3. Zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination

Harassment, abuse, discrimination, and microaggressions have no place here. This includes offensive memes, comments, DMs, or behavior targeting someone's identity, background, or circumstances. Everyone deserves to feel safe in our space.

If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior, please report it immediately to the #seen moderators.

4. No spam, self-promotion, or sales pitches

#seen is for connection and growth, not lead generation. Posts promoting your services, tools you have a financial stake in, or unsolicited sales outreach will be removed. Share knowledge and insights, not sales copy.

5. Protect privacy and confidentiality

Respect everyone's privacy. Don't share others' personal information, and be mindful when discussing clients, employers, or campaigns. What's shared in #seen stays in #seen—don't use information from the community for external purposes.

6. Keep it constructive

Healthy debate about industry practices, strategies, and trends is welcome and encouraged. Challenge ideas, not people. Personal attacks, name-calling, or hostile behavior toward other members is unacceptable.

7. Stay on brand

Keep discussions relevant to social media, marketing, and creator work. While we love getting to know each other personally, avoid topics like politics, religion, or other divisive subjects that might make members uncomfortable.

8. No public call-outs

Address conflicts privately or through moderators rather than calling out individuals, companies, or clients by name in the community. We want everyone to feel safe participating without fear of being publicly criticized.

How to Make the Most of #seen

1. Get involved — Ask questions, share experiences, and engage in discussions. The more you participate, the stronger our community becomes.

2. Be supportive — Remember that we're all navigating similar challenges. Offer encouragement, practical advice, and celebrate wins together.

3. Stay authentic — This is your space to be real about the highs and lows of social media work. Honesty about struggles and failures helps us all grow.

4. Keep learning — The social media landscape changes constantly. Share new insights, tools, and strategies to keep everyone sharp.

5. Build connections — Engage meaningfully with other members. These relationships often become the most valuable part of the community experience.

Community Values

We see each other as humans first

Everyone in #seen is a real person with real challenges, wins, and everything in between. We approach each interaction with empathy and understanding.

Authenticity over perfection

We value honest experiences over polished facades. Share the real story—the good, the bad, and the "did that actually just happen?" moments.

Growth through support

We believe everyone grows faster when they're supported by people who understand their journey. We're here to help each other level up.

Inclusive by design

#seen welcomes social media professionals from all backgrounds, experience levels, and perspectives. Diversity makes us stronger and more creative.

Quality over quantity

We prioritize meaningful connections and valuable conversations over vanity metrics and surface-level engagement.

Professional but personal

While we're here for professional growth, we recognize that behind every account is a whole human. We care about the person, not just the professional.

By participating in #seen, you agree to uphold these values and guidelines. Together, we're building a community where the people behind the posts finally get the support they deserve.
